My name is Elizabeth Garamy and I am an artist who lives in an Ugly City. Ugly is not necessarily bad. Ugly simply means it does not stand up to the usual cultural standards of beauty. These days that may be a badge of honor.

Elizabeth Garamy was born and raised in New York. She studied at the Boston School of the Museum of Fine Arts and received her BFA from Tufts University. She has done conventional black and white hand painted photography for many years exhibiting in Massachusetts, New York Connecticut, and California. She then worked in graphic design and digital retouching. These days she does photography, photographic collages, and paints.
